Our Action Plan
Our action plan is simple and reasonable ...... though it may take several years of lobbying and debate to establish positive effects and to demonstrate that almost ethnically speaking: "Motorsport is a community" ... ... and therefore we should be heard and respected and valued as such. We seek: 1. To establish the premise that the great outdoors, as mankind's finest resource, is common to us all and that its capacities of land, water and air should be shared equally by us all — sometimes geographically controlled, sometimes through time management, always by independently adjudicated agreement. 2. To encourage government, through the planning and public enquiry regime, to adopt a policy of physical separation to ensure that different activities and lifestyles do not unnecessarily encroach upon each other. 3. To insist that planning and public enquiry decisions are formulated in acknowledgement of all laws of the land and that they should not subsequently be swept aside by any of those laws. 4. To promote the idea that long-established activities have a valid right of prior practice (grandfather rights) and that this should be honoured and properly valued. 5. To demand that the needs of communities and individuals, for whatever legitimate interests they wish to pursue, be scientifically estimated and facilities allocated that match those reasonable needs. 6. To demand that such facilities, operating within their planning conditions, receive long-term legal protection from the actions of groups or individuals and from their physical encroachment. 7. To promote motorsports of all forms as legitimate activities that make a positive contribution to society — socially, environmentally and to the economy — and to have this acknowledged at Parliamentary level. 8. To establish case law which prohibits the individual concerns of very small numbers of people from disproportionately affecting the amenity of very large numbers of the public. 9. To discourage law firms from generating and pursuing statutory nuisance claims against motorsport facilities. 10. To have the law of Statutory Nuisance reviewed and updated. |
